We’ve had the spring equinox and now the clocks have gone forward – it’s still a bit chilly but spring really has arrived!
Usually we would be filling our car with all our lovely new stock and heading off to set up at charity fairs and the regular pop up events we do. It’s a lovely time of year as people are shaking off the winter blues and embracing lighter, brighter colours and fabrics for the season ahead…
Well, like everyone else around the world we are at home, getting our brains around a whole new vocabulary: working from home, self-isolation and social distancing. We are all still a little in shock, coming to terms with what is the new normal. Keeping our spirits up with family and friends we have been initiated into the world of Zoom and WhatsApp videos – there are a lot of very creative people out there with a lot of time on their hands!
Our work horizons have closed in too and we’re missing our stallholder friends, customers and of course meeting new people. As March has progressed one event after another has been forced to cancel. It’s a bit of a blow for a small business like us but truly awful for the charities large and small whose events we attend.
But we are lucky, we have a lovely website and we can use it to do a little good in the world! At our charity fairs we donate 10% of our takings at the end of the day so we’ll be doing the same online. We would like to make this personal for our customers so tell us who is important to you.
